Buhari Hails WAHO Response To Covid19 Crisis.

Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has commended the role West Africa Health Organization has played towards stemming the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in the West African subregion. Buhari made the commendation at the twenty second ordinary session of the ECOWAS Assembly of Health Ministers in Abuja. Represented by Nigerian minister of health, Osagie Ehanire, the president noted that WAHO efficiently coordinated the ECOWAS COVID 19 Response. Speaking at the event, the Director General of WAHO professor Stanley Okolo noted that member states received support in the areas of Personal Protective Equipment, PPE and diagnostic materials during the hit of the pandemic. He also hinted that the region has so far received 33 million doses of COVID 19 vaccines. The 22 Ordinary session of west Africa health organization in Abuja is part of the annual meeting by the member states to brain storm on issues concerning health and ways of addressing the challenges brought by COVID 19 and other killer diseases within the subregion.
