AVM Efanga Conducts Assessment Visit to Kainji, Reaffirms NAF Air Superiority

The Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Esen Paul Efanga, conducted an operational assessment visit to Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kainji.

The visit was designed to evaluate the operational effectiveness, force protection, and mission execution of units currently supporting counter-insurgency efforts. According to NAF officials, the oversight visit aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s philosophy of maintaining a capability-driven and mission-focused air force.

Review of Operations

During the assessment, AVM Efanga reviewed the activities of the Air Component, Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 3. He praised the air and ground crews for their discipline and maintained operational tempo.

As a practical demonstration of readiness, the base executed a precision show-of-force mission during the visit. AVM Efanga noted that the mission reinforced the NAF’s sustained air superiority and its ability to respond to threats across the area of responsibility at short notice.

Strategic Intent

The AOC emphasized that the Nigerian Air Force remains positioned to maintain a decisive advantage over hostile elements. Quoting the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Efanga stated:

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to apply air power decisively, relentlessly, and with precision to secure the nation, protect critical assets, and deny all hostile elements any freedom of action.”

Commitment to Security

AVM Efanga assured the public that the NAF is fully in control of the operational environment and committed to sustaining its current momentum. The visit concluded with a morale-boosting session for personnel, reaffirming the Service’s dedication to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and achieving lasting territorial security.
