Ahead of the National Convention of the All Progressive Congress slated for February 2022,all may not be well with the Youth directorate of the ruling party.
This is as a youth group under the auspices of the Progressive Youth Movement early in the week announced the sack of the Governor Buni led Caretaker committee of the APC citing various reasons.
However,another coalition of Progressive Youths in Nigeria and the Diaspora have disassociated themselves from the actions of the PYM, stating that the APC leadership as presently constituted has done well and demands the support of all and sundry.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Director General of the Coalition, Dr Aminu Isyaku wondered what informed the decision reached by the PYM when there are no clear leadership tussle in the APC.
He said the decision by the Coalition to speak is to correct the negative impression that Nigerian Youths in Politics are desperate and disrespectful to constituted authorities.
The Group further questioned what they referred to as the golden silence of the APC Youth Leadership over the development.
They however called on the party leadership to investigate the personalities behind the PYM and if found to be genuine party members should be sanctioned.
And as part of efforts to check a reoccurrence of such development, the Coalition advocated need for the APC leadership to do away with the practice of tokenism and move towards genuine youth participation in Governance.
