The All Progressives Congress APC has dismissed a letter written to it by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demanding a 21 day notice for it’s national convention fixed for March 26.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Spokesperson of the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee(CECPC) Barr Ismael Ahmed accused the electoral body of misinterpreting the Electoral act on the said matter.
According to him, there is no need for a 21 day notice since the APC had earlier issued a notice to the commission of it’s intent to conduct the national convention on March 26. Bar.
Ahmed also spoke on other issues of recent development in the ruling party including the federal high court judgement against Gov Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State.
The party further clarified on the purported resignation of the Secretary of the CECPC, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, saying it is social media blogs speculated.
