That solidarity song by the coalition of civil society organizations under the aegis of Conference of Civil Society For Transparency and Accountability is a call for action for the immediate removal and investigation of the Director General of Bureau of Public Procurement Dr Adebowale Adedokun and his Chief of Staff Olanrewaju Obasa over alleged corruption.
Addressing journalist at a peaceful protest at the national headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in Abuja, the Convener of the group, Comrade Olumuyiwa Ondele demands for the instant arrest of the BPP boss.
He said the alleged corrupt practices and abuse of office by Dr Adebowale Adedokun is capable of undermining Nigeria’s Public Procurement system.
While submitting a fresh petition to the Commission, the group noted that, an earlier petition was sent, adding that further delay might force the Coalition to approach the Presidential villa to ensure their demand is met.
Receiving the petition on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC Chairman, the spokesperson of the Commission Dele Oyewale, stressed that the anti graft agency remains apolitical and will treat the petition will all sense of responsibility.
The group brandished placards with different inscriptions like ” Stop corruption in BPP ” to drive home its message.
