The General Officer Commanding 6 Division and Land Components Commander Joint Task Force South-South Operation Delta Safe Major General, Emmanuel Emekah has identified limited modern military equipment as a major pitfall in the fight against crude oil theft.
He disclosed this at an interactive session with Defence Correspondents in Port Harcourt, Rivers State after a tour of various area of responsibility of Operation Delta Safe in oil rich region of the state.
General Emekah said if enhance with critical modern warfare assets, Hi-Tech as well as airboats to complement the existing gunboats the fight against oil theft and pipeline vandalism would be addressed.
He said the Division also supports its 82 Division counterpart in its operations against the IPOB terrorists’ group in the Southeast from the Agbor axis of Delta State.
The GOC, 6 Division however, assured of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to ensure that criminal elements are fished out and brought to justice.
