The National Chairman of the Accord Party, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, has been re-elected as the National Secretary of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), the umbrella body of all registered political parties in Nigeria.
Mgbudem, who was first elected on 15 December 2023 for a two-year tenure, had previously served as the Deputy National Chairman of the Council.
Other newly elected IPAC officials are:
Dr. Yusuf Mamman Dantalle – National Chairman
Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim – Deputy National Chairman
Maryam Garba Bagel – Deputy National Secretary
Dr. Dipo Olayoku – National Treasurer
Chinyere Kalu – National Organising Secretary
Dr. Umar Mohammed – National Financial Secretary
Martins Egbeola – National Publicity Secretary
Barr. Obed Agu – National Legal Adviser
The election was conducted on Monday, 8 December 2025, at the IPAC National Secretariat in Abuja and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In his remarks, Barr. Mgbudem thanked political party leaders for the confidence reposed in him to serve a second term as the Council’s scribe. He also commended the Electoral Committee, led by Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, for successfully conducting the exercise and pledged to work with the new executive to advance the Council’s objectives.
