The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has taken delivery of ICT facilities aimed at enhancing the operation of its citizen contact center for the 2023 general election.
At a handover ceremony of the IT facilities to the Commission in Abuja, the programme manager of the Community Life Project, Francis Onahor, said the facilities will offer Nigerians the opportunity to get real-time responses to inquiries, incident reports, and queries about any aspect of the electoral process.
He expressed confidence that the gesture will further boost INEC’s capacity to resolve electoral incidents and offer citizens better opportunities to exercise their franchise.
Receiving the IT facilities on behalf of INEC chairman, National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Bar Festus Okoye assured of the commission’s determination to ensure Nigerians get authentic information that will enable them make informed decisions ahead of the general elections.
The donated IT facilities with support from the Ford Foundation includes 15 all in one desktop computers, 2 laptops and 15 UPS.
