Hon. Ifeoluwa Babajide Ehindero, the lawmaker representing Akoko North-East/North-West Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed the media’s role as a critical partner in national development, pledging a robust collaboration with the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE).
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the association to his National Assembly office on Wednesday, Ehindero, who serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Student Loans, Scholarships, and Higher Education Financing, emphasized that effective governance is inseparable from media partnership.
Commitment to Media and Ethics
The lawmaker lauded the leadership of Speaker Abbas Tajudeen for empowering young legislators and noted that his own political journey was significantly bolstered by media support.
”There is no way we can do this job successfully without partnering with the media,” Ehindero stated. “I commend ACOE for its innovation and the ethics it upholds in the online media space. It is a noble organization, and I pledge my 100% support for your programs.”
Legislative and Constituency Milestones
Highlighting his achievements since joining the 10th Assembly, Hon. Ehindero disclosed several key impacts within his constituency, including:
- Employment: Facilitating jobs for over 60 young people across various federal agencies.
- Healthcare: Renovating approximately seven Primary Healthcare Centres and providing essential medical equipment.
- Maternal Support: Distributing delivery gifts to over 350 pregnant women within his first 100 days in office.
He further revealed plans for an upcoming major empowerment program scheduled for the next two months, which he intends to execute in partnership with ACOE to ensure transparent and wide-reaching communication.
