Senator Abdullahi Adamu, former Governor of Nasarawa State,has emerged as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress. Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State made this known at the APC National Convention held at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
The Governor also announced former Deputy Governor of Osun State,Senator Iyiola Omisore as National Secretary of the party alongside other names in the 54 man unity list as endorsed by Governor’s of the APC.
The convention was not without the usual intriques that saw other aspirants for respective positions including former senate president Ken Nnamani who was president Buhari anointed candidate for the position of Deputy Chairman South step down for persons captured in the unity list except for former minister of women Affairs, Margret Ekpo.
Earlier before the elections commenced, President Buhari in his remarks called for support for the new APC NEC members. Other speakers including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila Said the convention presents opportunity to build the APC that can stand the test of time. Over 7000 delegates from the 37 States and FCT attended the Convention.
