The Nigeria Governor’s Forum has pledged commitment to support the efforts of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC)to establish the African Democratic Institute.
NGF Chairman and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi gave the indication at an interactive session with the leadership of IPAC in Abuja.
He said the NGF as a non political platform is open to the ADI initiative which when establish will further strengthen democratic governance on Nigeria and other African countries.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of IPAC, Alhaji Yagbaji Sani said the dream of setting up the ADI is to have a centre in Abuja that will intake the teaching of universal philosophy and practice of democracy.
The IPAC leadership further indicated it’s efforts geared towards fostering and entrenching democracy in Africa.
The need for the Governor’s to support the IPAC’s state chapters in the 36 states across the country was also highlighted at the meeting.
