FG Advocates Effective Coordination Of Adolescent Health Programme Nationwide
Federal Government has expressed resolute to ensure access to quality health to Nigerians, particularly the adolescent and young people.
The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire disclosed this in Abuja at the commemoration of the National and International Adolescent Health Week.
He said progress towards achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and Universal Health Coverage requires keeping the adolescents healthy by appropriate investment and effective coordination. He further pointed out that at the subnational levels, the National Adolescent Health Policy is being domesticated, frontline health workers’ capacities are being built and strengthened in collaboration with other partners like World Health Organisation, UNICEF, Lafiya project among others.
Some participants spoke on the significance of the day to adolescents. The theme for this year’s celebration is, Transition: Building a case for the visibility of adolescents in Nigeria while transitioning from a pre-pandemic to a life shaped by Pandemic.
