As preparation for the nation’s head count is in top gear, the Etsu of Kwali in the Federal Capital Territory Dr. Shaban Audu Nizazo has called on the Federal Government to provide adequate funding for the conduct of 2022 exercise.
The Etsu who was reacting to the census proclamation in Abuja said President, Mohammadu Buhari must ensure that resources required for a credible population census is made available as figure is very important for national developmental.
“My advice for President is for him to understand that census is not something we say go into the field and bring a census figure, there are steps that we can provide for the reposition of those steps.
“We can’t jump one step into the other. So whoever is close to Mr. President should advice him that we must take first steps of training because it is not an easy job”, he said.
The Royal father said credible data would also help in policy making.
He pointed out that there is need for national population commission to conduct training for the ad-hoc staff for effective and credible census.
