The Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, Joseph Ari says the Technical Skills Development Project, a joint initiative of the fund and the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association was borne out of the need to promote availability of manpower with technical and vocational skills expected to meet identified needs of industries in Nigeria for economic growth.
The ITF boss who said this in Abuja while addressing a world press conference noted that the initiative is targeted at reducing unemployment as well as create wealth in line with the nation’s industrial development expectations.
To ensure the project succeeds, Ari said the fund and it’s partners adopted a robust management structure that has guaranteed it’s effectiveness and numerous achievements.
The ITF boss also highlighted some of the milestones the project has achieved over the few years of its existence.
Some of the project beneficiaries also took turns to share their experience.
To further strengthen the initiative,a momorandum of Understanding was signed by the ITF and it’s implementing partners.
