The Nigerian Government has been advised to explore the opportunity presented by the devastating impact of Covid-19 pandemic to global economy to solicit debt forbearance from creditor nations.
The Country Director, OXFAM, Vincent Ahonsi who made the call at an interactive session with news men in Abuja said Nigeria waste lots of money that would have been use to enhance the standard of living of its citizens to service debts.
He said if the feet was achieved by past government it could be replicated by the Buhari led administration.
The OXFAM Country Director also said the Nigerian government has to show the political will in implementing policies that will bridge the inequality gap between the rich and the poor as well as review its tax policy in favour of the less privileged. He further spoke on other sundry issues.
The Oxfam helmsman however pointed out that the organisation has presented the Nigerian government with position papers on how to strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, (MSMEs) sub-sector.
