The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has indicated plans to address concerns raised over the functionality of the bimodal voter accreditation system BVAS as played out in last Saturdays federal capital territory area council election.
INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu said this at the meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja. Yakubu who acknowledged the contributions of technological innovations to successes recorded in recently conducted elections says there is no going back to the manual era.
He was however quick to say modalities for improvement of the device and other issues related to election day administration will top discuss at the meeting.
Also as expected, complaints of inbalance distribution of voters to polling units will be given due attention by the INEC leadership and RECs.
Meanwhile, devolution of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise to other designated centres across the country is also expected to feature prominently at the meeting.
