The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has declared the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, wanted over alleged link with an international drug cartel.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson for NDLEA, Femi Babafemi at a press conference in Abuja. Babafemi started the briefing by condemning the attitudes of some law enforcement officers he alleged aide and abet drug traffickers instead of fighting the menace.

The NDLEA spokesperson further revealed that the agency through intelligence discover that the embattled DCP Kyari is a member of a drug cartel that operates the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug pipeline.

He noted that all efforts made to invite Kyari for debriefing did not yield result as the agency was left with no option other than to declare him wanted.

Babafemi further played a video clips where the suspended DCP was allegedly inside a vehicle with an NDLEA officer and later bundle of dollars were seen littered around the scene.

Indications from Babafemi suggests that the Agency is in possession of dossier of intelligence, hardfacts from chats to photos and video as well as detailed transcript of communication between Kyari and the NDLEA officer in the alleged drug racket.

Until his suspension by the authorities, Kyari was the officer-in-charge of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team.

A report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States of America had earlier indicted him in the case of fraud involving Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.
