The Nigeria Army has promised to sustain the existing collaboration with the National Security and Civil Defence Corp and line security agencies in the area of training and mutual interest.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General, Faruk Yahaya disclosed this in a statement signed by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu and made available to Channel Network Afrique (CNA).
The COAS while commending the NSCDC for its commitment in securing lives and property including safeguarding critical national infrastructure urged corp not to relent in their fight against economic saboteurs.
Earlier, the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi who solicited support from the army for capacity development for his members harped on the how the training will help in tackling the current security challenges confronting the nation. He added that having benefitted from military trainings in the past, the window of training opportunity from the NA, if made available will ultimately enhance the Corps’ operational capacity.
The NSCDC boss further expressed appreciation for the training of female squad of the Corps with special capabilities which according to him has largely enhanced their capacity as they are being deployed to safeguard schools across the country.
