The newly appointed Director, Defence Information, Major General, Ohwonigho Akpor has indicated plans to strengthen and sustain the existing synergy with other security agencies and the media in order to build a more peaceful and progressive Nigeria. Akpor gave the assurance at the handing over ceremony held at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He further urged the media to play a vital role of advancing national security in it’s reportage of security matters. Earlier the Acting Director, Defence Information Air Commodore Wap Maigida who handed over the mantle of leadership to Major General Akpor admonished the media and military personnel to extend a hand of support with more vigour to the new Defence spokesperson in order to achieve the mandate of the service. High point of the event includes,signing of handing and taking over notes, Decoration of Incoming DDI with the Defence Headquarters badge and the handing over of flag by Air Commodore Maigida to Major General Akpor.
