Activities of the Nigerian troops in various theater operations across the country have continued to record tremendous success in the offensive against sundry crimes bedeviling the nation. This is as troops of Operation Safe haven forestall activities of vandals as well as economic saboteurs in the Niger Delta region with 39 illegal refining sites, 17 large dugout pits and 96 storage tanks discovered and immobilized. Addressing a press conference in Abuja to update Nigerians on its strides from 6th to 20th January,2022, the Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General Bernard Onyeuko noted that about 950,000 litres of stolen crude oil was recovered in the course of the operation with 10 suspects arrested. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, also in the period under review neutralized 37 terrorist elements,with 17 others arrested and large cache of arms and ammunition recovered.. The briefing further highlighted the onslaught against banditry,armed robbery,drug peddlers among others in the North west and North central by troop’s of operation Hadarin Daji, Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke with the Defence spokesman revealing significant result. Assuring of efforts to sustain the tempo, the Military high command restated the commitment of the military and other security agencies to remain decisive in tackling the prevailing security challenges until peace and normalcy is restored in the country.
