The Federal Government has again made clarifications that Donkey hides is still on the export prohibition list. Director General of the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service Vincent Isebge, stated this at a media briefing in Abuja. Isegbe who raised concerns about the depletion in the population of donkey’s in the country warned that officers of the Quarantine Service had been deployed nationwide to check the dangerous practice and prosecute offenders. The Service also declared war against foreigners and all those involved in smuggling and exportation of donkeys and its hides. Isegbe further assured that the Service inline with it’s mandate will continue to initiate measures that will prevent donkey extinction in the country.
