A civil group under the aegis of Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency, CESJET has lauded members of the Federal House of Representatives for their prompt attention to the National Youth Service Corps Trust Fund bill. The bill will provide sustainable source of funding for NYSC, skill acquisition, training as well as startup capital to Corps Members among other benefits. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the leadership of the group said it is a pleasant development that the NYSC-Trust Fund Bill has scaled First Reading on the floor of the House . The Executive Secretary of the group, Isaac Ikpa noted that the debate on the bill among the lawmakers indicates that they have a full grasp of the potentials inherent in the proposed NYSC Trust Fund, which according to him is capable of addressing myriads of challenges facing the Nigeria with regards to youth development. Ikpa however, noted that the NYSC Trust Fund is coming at a time where different countries are making concerted efforts towards harnessing the potentials of their youthful population in the drive for sustainable growth and development.
