The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS has expressed dismay over the low rate of Compliance to Covid-19 vaccination by member nation despite the availability of vaccines.
The President, ECOWAS Commission, Jean Claude Kassi Brou who expressed this at the ongoing 2nd Ordinary Session of the 5th Legislature in the ECOWAS Parliament in Abuja said with the latest spike of Covid-19 variances, members need to take issue of vaccination seriously.
The ECOWAS President also used the forum to update the parliamentarians on why the common regional currency, ECO was not launched in 2020 as earlier agreed by the 15 member nation.
He however, noted that despite difficulties experienced significant progress has been made to ensure that the ECOWAS single currency withstands the test of time.
