Group Honours Ex NIS Boss,Urges Nigerians To Emulate His Development Strides In Office.

There is this saying that hard work pays. This notion can be likened to the story of the former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mohammed Babandede who after retiring from service September 2021 have continued to enjoy goodwill, commendation and recognition for his tireless efforts and reforms at the service. This time around the the Ex Immigration boss was honoured by the Guild of Civil Societies and Media Executives for Equity,Justice and Transparency in Nigeria(GOCMEJ). Welcoming invited guests including members of the diplomatic corp,top government functionaries especially from the paramilitary agencies, captains of industry among several personalities, President of GOCMEJ Omoba Aigbegbe said the decision to roll out the red carpet for the former CG of the NIS was informed by his several landmark achievements aimed at repositioning the service to a 21st century organisation that can compete favourably with it’s counterparts across the world. speakers after speakers including the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Marcelino Cabanas in their remarks lauded Babandede for the legacies left behind at the Service. Meanwhile, the man of the moment,Mohammed Babadede in his remarks commended the group for the recognition expressing optimism that it will inspire people to do more for the Nation.He further made case for transparency in efforts to make Nigeria great again. The high point of the grand reception was the conferment of a lifetime achievement award on the ex immigration boss. Babandede retired as the 16th Comptroller General of the NIS in September 2021 after spending 36 years in service.
