The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has dismissed the report submitted by the Lagos State EndSARS panel on Police Brutality describing it as a hoax. Briefing journalists in Abuja on the outcome of the Lagos judicial panel, Mohammed said it was shocking that allegations made by Nigerians were merely compiled and submitted as a report by the panel set up to investigate the claims of police brutality. The minister pointed out what he termed as errors in the report, saying that the testimony of ballistic experts was completely ignored. He challenged relatives of the EndSARS victims to come forward with evidence, insisting that any parent who is afraid to testify about the death of his or her child is not worthy to be called a parent. The panel had in its leaked report indicted the army and police of shooting at the protesters at Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020 and killing several of them. However, the minister maintained his stands that the #EndSARS report by the Lagos State Panel was riddled with so many errors and inconsistencies and also lacks factual evidence.
