The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says it has initiated several intelligence innovations that has helped reduce incidents of Banditry activities in Katsina state and environs. NSCDC Commandant General,Dr Ahmed Audi gave the indication when members of the Katsina state Elders Forum paid him a courtesy call at the Corps Headquarters in Abuja. The initiative the NSCDC boss noted is targeted at rural dwellers who provide relevant information that aids personnel of the corps react swiftly to distress calls. Furthermore, Dr Audi informed the delegation of deployment of personnel to various commands to reduce incidents of kidnapping and other crimes in the North West State. Earlier, the leader of the Katsina state Elders Forum,represented by Senator Abba Ali said their visit to the NSCDC office was informed by the growing insecurity concerns in Katsina state and the need to sought the Corps assistance to turn the tide against the criminal elements. The role of Nigerians supporting Security agencies through credible information sharing was also highlighted at the meeting.
