Ahead of the 2021 International Human Rights Day celebration slated for 10th December, the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has described as worrisome, the activities of terrorists, bandits and unknown gunmen on the rights of Nigerians. Executive Secretary of the commission, Tony Ojukwu raised the alarm in Abuja on a day the commission mapped out plans to confer award to government institutions and civil society organizations for their contribution towards rights protection in the country. Ojukwu noted that despite the daunting human rights situation in the country, the award initiative is targeted at spurring the recipients to continue to advance the course of Rights protection in Nigeria. He also hinted that the commission has dedicated a web domain for Nigerians to vote for deserving awardees.
