Ahead of the 2022 head count, the National Population Commission says plans are in top gear to ensure a successful conduct of the exercise. To this end, the Commission has commenced a comprehensive, transparent and scientific preparation for the exercise. Addressing the Nasarawa state delegation led by the Governor, Abdullahi Sule, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, the NPC Chairman, Nasir Kwarra said 772 Local Government Areas have been demarcated so far as the remaining 2 will be completed soon. The Chairman expressed satisfaction with the supports from state governments to the Presidential directive to conduct the 2022 enumeration. On his part, the Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule commended the commission for a thorough Enumeration Area Demarcation exercise carried out in the state. He however, assured of his support to the successful conduct of the exercise in 2022. Nigeria has been due for a fresh census in 2016 as the last exercise was in 2006.
