The Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) FCT in Collaboration with Coalition of Civil Society Groups have expressed reservation over the conduct of investigation into the sudden disappearance of Tordue Salem, a senior Reporter working with the Vanguard Newspaper. Salem who covers the House of Representatives has not been seen or reached since Wednesday October 13. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the NUJ Chairman, Emmanuel Ogbeche said Salem’s disappearance is disconcerting and the search for him should be accorded high priority by the police and other security agencies. Ogbeche further solicited the intervention of well-meaning Nigerians to unravel the mystery behind Salem’s sudden disappearance saying the council will embark on a peaceful protest if the Benue born journalist is not produced within 24 hours. They further advised Journalists to always take the issue of security very seriously especially as the 2023 general elections is fast approaching.
