Since his assumption in office, the allegations of cash for job racketeering has been rocking the Commandant General, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ahmed Audi. The allegations which has not been independently verified by Channel Network Afrique, CNA has resulted to the call for the immediate sack of the NSCDC boss. Though, the fraud allegations vehemently denied by Ahmed Audi who attributed the campaign of calumny to a ploy by his detractors to derail his vision and mission in office. To buttress the NSCDC helmsman’s stance, a civil society group under the auspices of Stand Up Nigeria, took a peaceful protest to the National Assembly in the nation’s capital, Abuja as a mark of solidarity for Audi. The Convener, of the protest, Sunday Attah said the attack received by the NSCDC boss is as a result of his doggedness to reform the corps in line with President Buhari administration’s directives to rejig the Nigeria’s security architecture to suite the yearnings of the people. The high rate of unemployment facing Nigeria has led to some corrupt personnel in government establishments or through their cronies getting involved in cash for job racketeering which the NSCDC is not totally exonerated due to past experiences.
