The minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Kenyamo says the ministry will continue to partner with the National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria, NISCN, to promote occupational safety and health of Nigerian workers in their workplaces. Kenyamo gave the indication at the inauguration of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the council in Abuja. Congratulating the newly elected executives, the minister represented by Laureth Adoga,a director in the ministry assured of efforts to give them the needed moral and technical support to deliver on the mandate of the Council. He however tasked the new executives to be guided by the principles of international best practice by imbibing the spirit of tripatism as enshrined in the constitution of the NISCN. Earlier, National President, NISCN Dr Festue Daniel advocated support from the ministry to enable the council deliver on its mandate of safeguarding the occupational safety, health and welfare excellence in Nigeria. The need to review the constitution of the council was further canvassed at the ceremony.
