The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured of it’s readiness to deploy relevant and appropriate technology including the newly introduced Bimodal Voter Accreditation System for the conduct of the November 6 Anambra State Governorship election. The commission further disclosed of plans to use the new technological device to upload election results from the Polling Unit level to its central result viewing portal. INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu gave the indication at a One-Day Forum Organised by the INEC Press Corps in Abuja. Represented by National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, Prof Yakubu rested the commitment of the Commission to conduct a free, fair and credible election in Anambra state. The forum was attended by key stakeholders in the nation’s electoral process including the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba represented by CSP Muyiwa Adejobi. The IGP said measures have been put in place to ensure that Anambra State governorship election is devoid of security threats. The theme of the one day Forum is Inclusive Election in Anambra State and Beyond.
