As Nigeria rounds up arrangements to celebrate it’s 61st independence anniversary, the federal government has outlined activities to commemorate the day. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja to signpost the commencement of activities for the celebration, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who was represented by the ministries Permanent Secretary, Dr Ifeoma Anyanwutaku, stated that the independence day is an occasion for Nigerians celebrate it’s freedom from colonialism. He said it also provides an opportunity for Nigerians to appreciate the varied contributions of successive administrations at nation building. The minister further outlined detailed arrangements put in place to ensure a hitch Free ceremony. Nigeria will be celebrating it’s 61st Independence Anniversary, on Friday, 1st October, 2021.
