The Federal Government has commended the efforts of Christian leaders at ensuring the success of Covid 19 vaccinations across the country. The Minister of State for Health, Adeleke Mamora, gave this Indication in abuja at the sensitization of christian leaders on phase two covid 19 vaccination and primary healthcare in Nigeria. Mamora further informed the gathering that the decision to introduce Sunday vaccination was to ensure members of the Christian community who may not have had access to the vaccine for whatever reason are given an opportunity to be vaccinated at their worship places. He however admonished them to encourage their members against falling prey to misinformation and rumours on the vaccination exercise. The Executive Director,National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib,in his remarks assured the participants on the safety of the vaccines saying they are administered free of charge to all eligible persons. Meanwhile, the Christian leaders and other stakeholders in their separate remarks called for more advocacy and good will messages on the safety of the vaccines. The delegation were further briefed that side effects of vaccines are normal as the NPHCDA is working closely with NAFDAC to keep a close watch on all those who have been vaccinated for any unlikely case of serious adverse effects.
