The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra’s Attorney in the United States, Bruce Fein has threatened to drag Nigeria to the International Criminal Court, United States Congress and other world bodies over an alleged maltreatment of his client Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian authorities. Fein made the threat in Abuja while claiming that the Department of State Services DSS had again denied him from visiting Kanu at its custody against the order of the Federal High Court in Abuja. The IPOB’s US based Attorney faulted the manner Kanu was arrested in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria by the security agents. On his part, Kanu’s counsel Ifeanyi Ejiofor noted that the reasons provided by the secret police for aborting the scheduled Monday August 6 visit to Kanu by Bruce Fein was extremely ridiculous and a violation of the agreement they reached with the agency. Kanu who was rearrested and extradited to Nigeria in June this year was re-arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako for charges bordering on terrorism. He has since then been remanded in the DSS custody in Abuja.
