FG Rallies Northern Traditional Leaders On Immunisation.

The Federal Government has commended the efforts of Northern Traditional leaders at ensuring Nigeria remains wild polio virus free. Executive Director,National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) Dr Faisal Shuaib gave the Indication at the 3rd quarter meeting of the norther traditional leader’s committee on primary healthcare delivery held in Abuja. Shuaib who used the occasion to highlight the role of the participants in ensuring delivery of healthcare services at the grassroots level further disclosed that the nation’s wild polio virus free certification is not under any form of threat. He however warned against losing gap,inview of the different disease outbreak the nation is presently contending with. As expected, the meeting was attended by key partners of the agency including the world health organization who in their separate remarks applauded the contribution of the traditional leaders in eradicating diseases like small pox, guinea worm and of recent polio. Responding on behalf of the northern traditional leaders, the Sultan of Sokoto, represented by the Emir of Argungun, Samaila Mohammed Mira assured of their support to government policies that will check the spread of Covid 19 and other diseases. Other Highlights at the quarterly meeting suggests extensive mobilisation of Nigerians and advocacy on the safety of the Covid 19 vaccines.
