The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) has raised concerns over the state of insecurity in the country and called on relevant authorities to do the needful. Addressing a news conference in Abuja on the state of the nation, the chain of the new Governing Board of the Group Auwal Musa Ibrahim condemned the attack on the Nigeria Defence Academy describing it as unacceptable. He blamed the government for treating national security with levity while the geo political zones continue to bleed. Other issues of national importance raised at the briefing includes the worrisome trend of corruption in the nation’s electoral process,use of government agencies to intimidate Nigerians for expressing their fundamental rights of opinions among others which according to the Group brings back memory of the military junta days. Advocacy to reform and institutionalize internal democracy in political parties, campaign for massive voters education, Continuous voters registration were some of the listed policies to be pursued by the TMG new board in the next four years.
