Troops Neutralize Scores Of Terrorists, Recover Arms In Borno- DHQ

The Defence headquarters says the intensified efforts by troops in diverse theatres of operations have relatively forestall the spate of criminal activities in the country. Speaking at a press conference to update Nigerians on the strides recorded from 2nd to 15th July 2021, the Acting Director Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General Bernard Onyeuko said troops in different operations has sustained the onslaught against armed bandits and other criminal elements through the conduct of ambush operations, clearance and cordon search and repel bandits attack in the North West zone. He said such operations resulted to bombardment of several armed bandits, destruction of their camps and equipment as well as the rescue of kidnapped victims among others. Brigadier General Onyeuko further added that the operational capabilities of Boko Haram Terrorist/Islamic States of West Africa Province has been degraded in the North East Zone with scores of terrorist neutralized and a large cache of arms and ammunition recovered. A trailer loaded with railway clips and tracks vandalised from Wasa village in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State by troops of operation whirl punch and thunder strike was also mentioned by General Onyeuko.
