Rejig Security Architecture, IPAC Urges Buhari, Rejects Onochie Nomination As INEC Commissioner.

The Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC has expressed worry over the state of affairs in the country, a factor it noted may be responsible for Nigeria’s ranking as 3rd most unsafe place to live on earth. IPAC Chairman, Dr Leonard Nzenwa said this at a news conference in Abuja. Nzenwa who painted a worrying scenario where unscrupulous elements connive with criminals to carryout heinous crimes and receive billions of naira as ransom called on the federal government to rise to the occasion. Also, the Controversy surrounding the nomination of presidential aide Lauretta Onochie as INEC national commissioner was spotlighted at the briefing with the Council kicking against the move. IPAC also gave reasons why the federal government should rescind its ban on Twitter operation in Nigeria. The need for INEC to get it right with the conduct of Anambra Governorship poll was also mentioned with the leadership of the Council insisting that the outcome will serve as a litmus test ahead the 2023 general elections.
