June 12: Police Shoot Teargas At Protesters In Abuja.
As Nigeria commemorate Democracy Day on June 12, the police on Saturday shot teargas to disperse protesters in the Gudu area of Abuja.
The protesters led by social activists Omoyele Sowore and Deji Adeyanju had blocked the Gudu Junction carrying placards and banners with various inscriptions to protest the state of the Nation.
They demanded the resignation of President Mohammadu Buhari saying he has failed to address the challenges bedeviling the nation top of which is insecurity.The protest was however short lived as heavily armed policemen stormed the scene and began shooting tear gas into the air, thereby dispersing the protesters.
