National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has disassociated itself from calls of secession by any part of the country. This is as the Council disclosed plans to commence massive engagement of it’s members from across to country with a view to redirect their minds towards unity and oneness of Nigeria. Speaking ahead of it’s leadership, Economic and Security Summit in Abuja, NYCN president Solomon Adodo called on proponents of secession and drummers of ethnic wars to review their position and direct their energy to the unity of Nigeria. Acknowledging some defects in the present composition of the Nation, Adodo however called on the National Assembly to do the needful. Expressing their reservation over the rising trend of insecurity in the country especially with ransome collection going on a massive scale, the Council called on president Mohammadu Buhari led government to raise to the occasion. The Youth Movement also disclosed that its planned summit with the theme ” Redirecting the Nigerian State, Taking our future now” is targeted at setting the stage for national conversation on contending issues in Leadership, Economy and Security.
