As Nigeria join the rest of the world to commemorate the 2021 World menstrual hygiene day, the Federal Government says it will ensure that challenges face by women and girls in both schools and public places is reduced by making water and pad accessible. Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen who disclosed this in Abuja said, May 28 was set aside to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management world over. She said menstrual hygiene was institutionalize in 2019 by the Ministry to protect the dignity as well as rights of women and young girls. Speaker after speaker including delegations of the United Nations recount their first menstrual experience. The theme of this year’s world menstrual day is, “time for action to ensure girls and women don’t feel limited by their period through increase menstrual hygiene”.
