President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that the well being and prosperity of every Nigerian Child will remain key component of his administration policies and programmes of action. The President stated this while commemorating the National Children’s day at the International Conference Centre Abuja Organised the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Rural Development. The day is set aside to honour children,raise awareness on their plights and needs as well as promote and protect their rights. Represented by the Minister of FCT, Muhammed Bello, president Buhari expressed concerns over recent attacks of schools by bandits and assured of several prevention measures to curb the trend. He further restated commitment that the full deployment of social intervention programmes across the country will achieve his administrations vision of lifting 100million Nigerians out of poverty. Earlier in her remarks, the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen says all hands must be on desk to protect the Nigerian Child from challenges of violence, school extreme poverty and other societal vices resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic Some of the children also share their experiences arising from the new other. Highlights of the events with the theme: “Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Total Wellbeing of the Child: The Way Forward” includes awards and cultural presentation among Others.
