Extort Job Seekers And Be Sack, NIS Boss Warns Personnel

The Nigeria Immigration Service has warmed against the act of paying money by candidates to either its officers or agents for the sake of employment. The Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede who gave the warning at a media parley at the service’s headquarters in Abuja said employment slots are not for sale but for qualified candidates. While urging candidates to report any form of extortion by its personnel, the Immigration boss emphasized that anyone found wanting would be made to face the full wrought of the law. The NIS Comptroller General, however, assured of the service preparedness to commence the final stage of screening exercise for successful candidates who applied for the 2020 recruitment which was earlier suspended as a result of the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Speaking earlier, the Director/Secretary, Civil Defence, Correction, Fire and Immigration Board, Hajiya Aisha Elfurai gave a break down of the screening process. The numbers of shortlisted candidates across the six geopolitical zones of the country will be made public on the NIS website from Monday, May 10,2021.
