NCC Warns Telecom Consumers On Danger Of Sharing Cell Phone, SIM, NIN
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has warned telecom consumers not to share their cell phones, National Identity Number (NIN), and Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards with others. The Director Consumer Affairs Bureau, NCC, Mr Efeosa Edehen who stated this at a consumer conversation event organised by the commission in Abuja said defaulters would be held liable for any crime committed with the SIM cards. He Further cautioned against helping consumers link their SIM cards with NIN or give phones to other people to make calls, send texts, or use social media Edehen further used the opportunity to enlighten parents and guardians on how to teach their children the proper use of internet. The theme of the Conversation aimed at enlightening Consumers on the danger of sharing such vital information :” know Your Rights and Obligations as a Telecom Consumer”.
