FG, PASAN, JUSUN Meeting Ends In Deadlock As Striking Unions Insist On Demands
The meeting between the Federal Government and leaders of striking judiciary and parliamentary workers has ended in Abuja in deadlock. In a meeting that lasted for about nine hours, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige pleads with the leadership of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, and the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN to call off their industrial action. The labour leaders on their part insisted that there was no basis for negotiation on a strictly constitutional matter. They however, promised to review the document presented to them by the government which content was concealed to news men before taking their next step The meeting is scheduled to reconvene next week.
