Some concerned Nigerians have issued the Federal Government and the Management of the University of Lagos a seven-day ultimatum to conduct a formal Convocation as well as award Certificates to over three thousand graduates of the institution. This directive was issued at a news conference in Abuja, Speaking on behalf of the group physically and virtually, a Nigerian-American Philanthropist, Toyin Dawodu decries the undue delay by the ivory tower in conducting Convocation and issuance of Certificates to the graduates since 2019. He said some of the affected graduates have been denied the opportunity to attend the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps scheme and other life endeavours which require the certificate. Principal Associate, Barrister Frank Tietie said that delay in issuance of certificates is costly hence, graduates should be bold enough to demand for it and make the University authorities pay legally. The group however, stressed that they will continue pushing till the right thing is done.
