The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFund) has disclosed plans to increase it’s intervention in research grants in 2021 from 128 approvals made in 2020. Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof Suleiman Bogoro gave the indication while receiving a contingent of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPS, Kuru, Senior Executive Course 43, 2021. Bogoro who was quick to add that the approvals will be announced as soon as the Board of Trustees gives its nod, further revealed that qualified institutions will draw a maximum of N50 million research grants from the N7.5 billion National Research Fund, NRF. The TETFund boss also briefed the delegation on the FUNDS agenda for establishment of more molecular laboratories. On his part, the Acting Director-General of NIPSS, Brig. Gen. Chukwuemeka Udaya, indicated the purpose for the visit saying it is to get deeper understanding on the workings of the fund. Other members of the delegation includes top military personnel,Officers of paramilitary Organizations, Senior civil servants, representative of the Organised labour among others.
