Abuja Gets Premium Passport Processing Centre, Aregbesola Lauds NIS
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for establishment of a Premium Passport Processing Centre in Maitama Abuja. Aregbesola gave the indication at the commissioning of the Centre said it will serve the passport needs of Nigerians who may be desirous of premium services. He said the centre which was established in partnership with the private sector is in compliance with president Buhari’s desire to generate 2million jobs in 10years and response to the yearnings of the public for more additional ways that the passport issuance process can be less stressful and more efficient. Earlier in his remarks the NIS Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede assured that the Express centre will provide expedite and guaranteed premium services. He however warned against acts of corrupt practices by operators of the center. The Centre which has a dedicated National Identity Number (NIN) registration unit will also cater for complete passport issuance from enrollment to production only for Fresh and Re issue passport applications. It is the first among among many more centers to be established and designed to offer specialized services to Nigerians.
