FG Flags-Off N50billion Export Intervention Grant

The federal government has launched a N50 billion Export Expansion Facility Programme (EEFP) targeted at supporting export businesses and cushioning the effect of the coronavirus pandemic. Launching the EEFP grant management system and the Export Development Fund (EDF) at the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) headquarters in Abuja, the Minister, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Richard Adebayo said the initiative will support mostly the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs)and also safeguard and create new jobs. He said the federal government is already taking advantage of the Covid 19 pandemic through the initiation and implementation of relevant policies to build a more resilient Nigerian economy. Earlier in his remarks the Executive Director of NEPC and secretary, EEFP steering committee, Olusegun Awolowo stated that the programme is tailored towards making non oil exports a major contributor to the country’s foreign exchange revenue. Expectations are that the Export Expansion Facility Programme / Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan,will help the nation achieve the #Pandemic2Prosperity and the #SavejobsCreatejobs initiatives.
